
Reese Wood is the CEO/Founder of the " Reese Wood Foundation" which is an organization that provides basketball training to athletes as well as community service to poverty driven neighborhoods. The foundation originated in Philadelphia, PA but now has fully transitioned to Miami, FL. Reese was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and attended John Bartram High School. While there, Reese was a 3 year varsity player , 2 year starter, and excelled athletically by helping his team win the 2003 Phila Public League Championship. During his senior year, Reese was named Team Captain, as well as 2nd team ALL PUblic, and being named 1 of the top 10 Point Guards in the entire city of Philadelphia in the 2003-2004 season. From there, Reese attended Wiley College located in Marshall, TX which is a Division 1 NAIA. During his time at Wiley, Reese propelled himself to win several awards in the Red River Athletic Conference including: ALL Conference honors, Newcomer of the year in the conference, conference assist leader, and a host of other awards.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Reese was able to play professionally in Ireland where he thrived individually by winning various MVP honors during his professionally playing career. As a former player with sufficient playing career professionally internationally in Ireland, Reese has converted from player to skills trainer of ALL skill levels for male and female players including; NBA,NBA G-League International, Collegiate, High School, and Youth players. Reese began the Reese Wood Foundation in 2015 in Philadelphia, PA by offering FREE basketball skills training weekly mixed with academic literacy to give back to youth in his community.
Upon the relocation of the Reese Wood Foundation from Philadelphia to the beautiful city of Miami , Reese has had the pleasure of training some notable players including: Kyle Lowry, Dion Waiters, Jason Richardson, Joe Johnson ,Bub Carrington, Jeremy Pargo, Rudy Gay, NBA CHAMPIONS Bruce Brown and Davon Reed . Other notable NBA players include :Frank Mason, Wayne Ellington, Quincy Miller, Jarrett Jack and various others. Reese also serves as manager for GSE Worldwide professional basketball agency where is responsible for the on court development of all basketball clients for the agency .
In the past 5 years , Reese has been the CO Head on court skills trainer for consecutive NBA Pre Draft processes where he has helped NBA prospects prepare for the NBA draft during the 6 week process FL. Reese has also started “The Foundation” boys and girls youth AAU travel basketball program, which composes boys and girls teams from 4th grade to 12th grade.
Internationally, Reese has had the pleasure of training players from over 12 countries in the world. As a skills trainer, Reese thrives in teaching/displaying the details in all aspects of the game. Reese truly feels that most players are visual learners, therefore, he takes prides in demonstrating all trainings methods to all players he works with. Reese's dedication to his craft as well as his work ethic to all training sessions allows him to thrive in developing players of all skill levels. Training with Reese will be nothing short of intense, purposeful, and direct with the intent for all players to get game results they are looking for.
Outside of basketball, Reese fulfill the roles of a Psychology Professor at Miami Dade College, Mental Health Therapist, and a mentor for many individuals that are affiliated with the Reese Wood Foundation and The Foundation programs. Reese has obtained his Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Rosemont College located in Rosemont, PA. Throughout the course of a calender year, Reese displays his dedication to under privileged communitY by facilitating: sneaker drives, feeding the homeless community during the holiday season and orchestrating toys drives for Christmas.
